  • When I first started contributing to Fedora, I joined the Docs team. jjmcd was one of those early contributors who welcomed me on board and taught me the ropes. He was a great example and helped me be a better contributor. I'll miss you, John.
  • I started working on Docs around 2006, John took me under his wing and taught me a lot. We got to meet in person at Ohio Linux Fest in 2011 and I will always have warm memories of the time I got to spend with John. He was a great person who cared for others and was always willing to help. Many times he single handedly made sure the Release Notes got out, and without him I don't think the Docs project would have been the great place it was in the 2000's and 2010's. I will miss John more than words can express, but I am so very thankful for the mentor and friend that he has been too me over the years. - Zach Oglesby
