Description

A complete installation, placing the root filesystem on a thin-provisioned logical volume.

Setup

  1. Ideally, begin with a test system with a single, empty, cleanly-formatted disk

How to test

  1. Boot the installer using any available means (netinst/boot.iso, PXE, or DVD)
  2. In the Installation Destination spoke, select target disk(s)
  3. Either set the Partition scheme: dropdown to LVM Thin Provisioning, or enter Custom partitioning and create a layout where the root filesystem (/) has its Device Type: set to LVM Thin Provisioning, and the rest of the layout is sensible and simple
  4. Proceed with installation, leaving all other settings at default where possible, using sensible values for anything you must select or fill in
  5. Complete the installation
  6. Boot the installed system and verify that the root filesystem is correctly mounted and used

Expected Results

  1. Installation completes successfully
  2. Installed system boots successfully
  3. root partition is backed by a thin-provisioned logical volume and is formatted with the expected default filesystem
