Revision as of 18:13, 18 February 2010 by Adamwill (talk | contribs) (mention requirement for a pre-printed color target)

Description

This test case tests whether creating a color profile for a webcam or scanner in gnome-color-management is successful. It requires a webcam or scanner which is supported in Linux, and a pre-printed reference color target like one of these

How to test

  1. Ensure the Package-x-generic-16.pnggnome-color-manager package is installed, and remove the Package-x-generic-16.pngshared-color-targets package if it is installed
  2. Remove any previous configuration by deleting the ~/.config/gnome-color-manager and ~/.color directories
  3. Ensure no color calibration hardware is connected
  4. Run the profile management tool: on the system menus, System / Preferences / Color Profiles
  5. On the Devices tab, select a connected webcam or scanner from the list, and click the Create profile for device button
  6. If asked whether to install packages for device support, say yes
  7. Follow the instructions provided for creating the profile

Expected Results

  1. The Package-x-generic-16.pngshared-color-targets package should be installed during the profile creation phase
  2. An appropriate profile for the device should be created and applied when the profile creation process is complete
