Proposed by MairinDuffy
I started thinking about how Fedora is a pure operating system - one of the core values of Fedora is only including free and open source software, without including non-free software, codecs, drivers, patents, etc. We try to be a *pure* operating system. So the main word I'd use to describe this theme is pure. Soft, clean glows. Pure, clean reflections. Yep, it's that simple. :) --MairinDuffy
Some of the feedback that I got was that all the Fedora symbols were floating up - a nice image/analogy, but the actual Fedora logo was stuck on the ground. So you could see this as maybe representing Fedora as a base for innovation/floating upwards - but here's a cut with the Fedora floating as well.

Metacity Theme and GTK+ Theme
Some comments on Try 1 being too dark. Here's an alternative. I'm not too happy about it though, definitely needs more development!
Simple Night Try 1
Seeing how it look in a smaller, more compressed environment. Note the stars can be extended beyond the box and into the transparent area. This is particularly of concern to the LiveCD as this screen will be there for a while :-p -- BenArnold
Set Two: Clifftop
I thought the essencse of this theme was a good idea, the pure and clean functionality often works for good wallpapers :-) I've continued this idea to include beauty from simplicity. The wallpaper has someone admiring the sights before them from a clifftop. The idea came from a painting I saw and though it would work here.
This person is seeing the beauty before them...
GDM Login Screen
Incorporating a variation of the well-working-and-clean darker stripe:
Pretty standard considering the Simple Night development:
Would like the username to be centred but for now:
After much twiddling, the radial colours come out quite well IMHO. I've got it set on my PC at the mo and it works a treat:

Combined the splash with the wallpaper to give the 'f' the emphasis. Preview image with possible colours ( #03265A [BG] and #013785 [Box] ):
The SYSLINUX one should be okay to index but I haven't tested it. It looks fine at the usual 16 colours but. like with GRUB, it needs certain colours. It is those I am unsure of.
Both these graphics have a white border to them as I liked it on the FC5 graphics. I think it stands out and gives a little more depth to the screen:

Can this theme be used with AiglxOnFedora ?
AIGLX is a compositing extension for Xorg. Only a theming engine might be able to take advantage of this. Wallpapers, splash screens etc have no relationship to AIGLX or Compiz - RahulSundaram
With beryl installed from Extras, the above theme can be used with the Heliodoor Window Decorator - JamesLawrence
True but a window manager theme is independent of the work being here though they need to compliment each other. We dont plan on installing Beryl by default but Compiz could be enabled. See http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/XInFC7 - RahulSundaram
