Nice Fonts supporting Persian and Arabic scripts, prepared specially for Persian script


Description

The Iranian family of the fonts are designed by support from Iranian National Initiative for Free and Open Source Software to provide a good looking and free font for Persian script. It consists of two main fonts: Iranian Sans and Iranian Serif to be used in appropriate contexts. It is a good font to be used by default for Persian script.

Caveats

  1. Currently, there is no official website for this font, but it is expected to be available soon.
  2. The font is dual license. One of them is Bitstream Vera license and the other is a modified version of that. The licensing situation is clarified here: Message by the author about the font and its licensing situation
  3. The font is used in FarsiTel project and one of them is available at: http://farsitel.com/fa/fonts/irsans.ttf
