Multiple RPMS

For those running test versions and also for good rpm database housekeeking, it is sometimes possible to end up with multiple revisions of programs in the database. This script deals with running a query using rpm which outputs duplicate packages. The only standard allowed multiple revision packages are gpg-pubkeys and kernel related packages. Steve Grubb did the work on the script other than a few user feedback outputs which I prefer to see. You should be able to use this script on dual arch system because of the arch being considered in the script. Thanks Steve! The script is attached below:

Boot Charts

Here is the resulting Bootchart from an FC5 Test 2 installation using Bootchart referenced by http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DefaultServices

I have compiled rpms from the source which dates back to January 9th for generating the bootchart. The rpms will install the program and add an entry initially within grub. You do however have to edit the /etc/grub.conf file whenever you upgrade future kernels. When I tested these rpms that were compiled on an FC5Test computer on an FC4 computer, the results were poor because of all of the Java packages required. Refer to the link above for pre-FC5Test computers for information related to building your own rpms from the tar.gz file. There are instructions in the source files and the task was not difficult to get the rpms to compile from source.
