The last updating of this page occurred on 06/6/2019. Nevertheless, it doesn't mean that the Translation State Table of the guides has been updated as well.

Purpose of this Page

This page aims at facilitating communication between the Documentation Project and the translations teams regarding the translation of the various guides on Zanata. Each team should make its own copy of the English page using the language bar mechanism, copy the page, and fill the parameters for their language thus allowing everybody to have an overview of the translation state and to get some guidance about what deserves translation and what doesn't.

When copying the English page, don't copy the FAQ. After copy add a FAQ specific to your language for internal questions and prepend it with the followin anchor: <span id="target-faq"></span>.

Updating by Guide Owners

Updating an Existing Guide

Each line of the table is a template for the various languages. To edit this template, just click on the name (link) of the guide to go to the template page. Edit the template and fill the parameters of the Guidetrstat template as shown in this example :

{{Guidetrstat
|color=
|title=Accessibility Guide
|owner=
|repository=Pagure
|update=REVISIONMONTH/REVISIONDAY/REVISIONYEAR
|zanata=Zanata
|priority=
|availabilityEn=Not available
|availabilityTr={}
|branch=Master
|status=Active
|roreason=
|percenttr={}|percentappr={}
|trupdate={}
|guidance=}}Template:PAGENAME/doc

Please give only values to the parameter of the Guidetrstat template (such as branch, green color) not to the parameters that make use of this templates' parameters (e.g. availabilityTr={availabilityTr}) which are for translators.
  • Parameters available for changes:
    • color : To change the color of the whole line. Red for Read-only, magenta for guide not yet on Zanata.
    • owner
    • repository : the link to the repository where the file for the book reside
    • zanata : the link to the zanata project
    • priority : High, Medium"" or "Low"
    • availabilityEN : Version which is available en docs.fedoraproject.org or Not available
    • branch : A / separated list of the branches that are available for translation on Zanata (e.g.Master/F24/F23)
    • status : Active if translatable, Read-only if not translatable
    • roreason : why this guide is read-only on Zanata
    • guidance: When the situation is not obvious on Zanata, please give some guidance for translators
All the changes made here are for all the languages!

Adding a New Guide

To add a new guide you must create a Template:Guidetrstat/<TEMP_NAME> template where <TEMP_NAME> is the name you give to the template that should resembles the name of the guide e.g. Template/Guidetrstat/networking for the Networking Guide (of course the name should not exist yet).

Then copy the following into the template, replacing <TEMP_NAME> and <GUIDE_NAME>

{{Guidetrstat
|color=
|title=<GUIDE_NAME>
|owner=
|repository=
|update=REVISIONMONTH/REVISIONDAY/REVISIONYEAR
|zanata=
|priority=
|availabilityEn=
|availabilityTr={}
|branch=
|status=
|roreason=
|percenttr={}|percentappr={}
|trupdate={}
|guidance=}}<noinclude>Template:PAGENAME/doc
</noinclude>

Once the template created and saved, edit this page and add the following lines in the table, replacing <TEMP_NAME> with the name of the template you have just created :

Save the page. Then click the guide's name in the table to update it.

Updating by Translation Teams

Do not edit the English page
Translation teams should never edit the English page but their translated page instead

How to make changes is quite obvious. Hereafter is an example :

In the example above, the line for the Accessibility Guide has been changed. Changes concern only four parameters:

    • availibilityTR : Whether the translated guide is available on docs.fedoraproject.org or not. If yes, give the last version available, if not, just write Not available
    • percenttr: Give the percentage of translated messages
    • percentappr: Give the percentage of approved translated messages.
    • trupdate : Give the date of your update for this guide
