Fedora 7 Pre-Release Test Coordination
This is an install test matrix which each test and final release is to run through. Any bugs found in this test would be considered release blockers.
This page exists to track installation testing progress of a test release. Functional testing may be tracked on a different page - watch this space for updates.
General Release Criteria
Current Testing Tree
The development
repo is a daily snapshot of the current testing tree.
For network installs, you can use the boot.iso in the images/ directory.
Test images may be available shortly here: http://torrent.fedoraproject.org/
For inside Red Hat walls, there is
nfs://reducto.boston.redhat.com:/srv/pungi/f7rc2.0/7/Fedora/
rsync://reducto.boston.redhat.com/pungi/f7rc2.0/7/Fedora/
http://reducto.boston.redhat.com/pungi/f7rc2.0/7/Fedora/
ftp://reducto.boston.redhat.com/pungi/f7rc2.0/7/Fedora/
Or, in RDU:
nfs://rawhide.test.redhat.com:/var/ftp/pub/7/Fedora
http://rawhide.test.redhat.com/pub/7/Fedora
ftp://rawhide.test.redhat.com/pub/7/Fedora
Virtual Whiteboard
There are a couple of things we're looking at with possible concern right now.
- Some Dell laptops with Intel dual-core CPUs (Core Duo, Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual Core) seem to only boot with maxcpus=1 (#241249 )
- Some ugprades end up with a slightly buggy grub.conf, but can boot with selecting the new kernel from the grub menu
Known issues
For reference, here are the Blocker and Target bugs for this release:
- Blocker - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=FC7Blocker
- Target - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=FC7Target
Changes of note:
- Anaconda and mkinitrd are now using mdadm to assemble software RAID arrays.
