From Fedora Project Wiki

Transifex.net holds a special place in Fedora's heart. It was started as a project from scratch for Google Summer of Code in 2007. The student, Dimitris Glezos, then went on to mentor a Transifex project, while another student worked on another Transifex project, all under the aegis of Fedora. That second student joined with Dimitris in founding a company around Transifex (Indifex), and since then we have welcomed them to pitch project ideas for GSoC through Fedora.

This year we see that Transifex has grown way beyond it's Fedora roots to the point of being a high-quality stand-alone project. We highly recommend that the Google team consider Transifex as a mentoring organization, as they bring to the table literally the best of what can come from GSoC. I know they are very excited to have a chance to be a full-fledged mentoring org themselves, bringing things full-circle in just four years.

Thanks - Karsten Wade, former Fedora GSoC administrator and mentor for Transifex in 2007
