My name is Alonso Sal y Rosas, I am 20 years old. I live in Bellavista, Callao, Peru. I'm studying Network and Communications Engineering at Technological University of Peru (UTP). I am member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers since 2014. Currently, I'm vice chairman of the IEEE Communications Society UTP Student Chapter and IEEE UTP Student Branch. I have been elected as IEEEXtreme Programming Competition 10.0 Ambassador representing IEEE Peru Section. My interests are to promote researching and developing free software applications based on Linux such as Fedora, CentOS and Ubuntu. I would like to form a Fedora committe in my university to encourage people to be part of Fedora's Community

Linux Activities

Currently, I'm researching Linux, specifically in Software Defined Networks and network functions virtualization with open source software as OpenDayLight SDN Controller, OpenStack, Docker and others.

I have used HPE VAN SDN Controller in Ubuntu for test computers with a virtualized enviroment, SDN is responsible for centralizing control plane and separate from control plane.

IEEE UTP Student Branch

I'm member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers since 2014. My story in IEEE began with IEEE ComSoc UTP, when a group of students of telecommunications engineering and networks & communicactions engineering trying to form the student chapter at the university. After a long way we managed to form chapter succesfully. From October 2015 until now I am the vice-chairman of IEEE ComSoc UTP Student Branch Chapter. I have been conference organizer of the IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer PhD. Sonia Aïssa, who comes to Peru from Cananda to give us a conference about RF Wireless Power and Energy Harvesting: Origins and Perspectives in 2015, this conference took place at Technological University of Peru. Also I have been part of the organization of Leaders workshop - Center of Peru in 2016 who was organized by three student branches (UTP - URP - UNAC).

Other activities

For this year I have been elected as Ambassador to the Fifth International Telecommunications Congress - TELCON UNI 2016. Last year I was elected too.
