Status page for improving the appdata in Fedora Software

Three main goals for appdata coverage in F21:

  • All default installed apps in the workstation have appdata
  • All default installed apps in the workstation have quality screenshots
  • increase appdata coverage for "Developer" apps
  • increase appdata coverage overall (before this push we were at approx 23% coverage)

All default installed apps in the workstation have appdata

The following applications are the ones identified as being in the default install, but not having appdata:

All default installed apps in the workstation have quality screenshots

The following apps have no screenshots:

  • empathy
  • evince
  • gnome-screenshot
  • nautilus
  • orca
  • org.gnome.Documents

increase appdata coverage for "Developer" apps

This is the list of Developer apps that don't have appdata. How to contribute

  1. Add your name against the file you want to edit (i just use the mediawiki button "add signature with timestamp"), then save the wikipage so everyone else knows you are working on this file.
  2. follow the link in the "File to edit" column below, and in the github UI, press the "edit" button to edit the file in github
  3. add your name to the copyright info at the top of the file. The metadata_license tag shows the licence that the file is licenced as (i always use cc0)
  4. add a comment & description. Content needs to be written by you and be original you cannot copy and paste from upstream websites, or the package description. Check out for an example of a good comment and description.
  5. once done, change the colour of the row to green to show its done

editor current data file to edit description upstream url
