π Purpose
The Fedora Council is our top-level community leadership and governance body. It is responsible for stewardship of the Fedora Project as a whole, and supports the health and growth of the Fedora Community. The Council is ultimately accountable for the Fedora Project as a whole, and is responsible for providing advice to and oversight of other Fedora governance bodies and teams as needed.
This hackfest is to facilitate council members working effectively through topics that require a high-bandwidth conversations, such as creating a process to support FE-Legal request triaging, Fedora Budget review, AI policy drafting and formalizing a Conflict of Interest policy. During this meeting we will also revise and set immediate goals for the Fedora Strategy, with the intent of leaving with a clear direction forward on how to achieve these, and a time-line to execute against. There are also supplementary goals like reviewing the changes proposed to the Fedora Mindshare committee, and future hackfest early planning. Additionally, we also intend to look at how the Council works together, and revitalise our ways of working in the places that its ineffective.
