The following elections will take place in in November 2011:

All dates and times noted are UTC time.

Committee Elections Schedule

  • October 24: Announce election schedule, call for Town Hall volunteers
  • October 25-November 5th: Nominations open (nomination period closes promptly at 23:59:59 UTC on the 5th)
  • October 25-November 5th: Questions for candidates accepted at Fedora 17 elections questionnaire
  • November 6-12: Organize town hall schedule
  • November 6-12: Candidates answer questions, send responses to Wrangler
  • November 12: Deadline for questionnaire responses from candidates
  • November 13-14: Wrangler presents questionnaire answers, posts to wiki
  • November 15-22: Town Hall meetings
  • November 21-22: Finalize online voting application
  • November 23-December 5: Voting Period (voting period closes promptly at 23:59:59 on the 5th)
  • December 6: Announce results

Nominations for Elected Positions

You may self-nominate. If you wish to nominate someone else, please consult with that person ahead of time. Wiki nomination pages carry additional details about the nominee which the nominee is expected to write.

Candidate Questionnaire

We are collecting a list of questions, which will be given to each candidate to answer before the IRC Town Halls. Please see the F17 elections questionnaire and add your own. Note: not all questions will be posed to the candidates. Questions may be edited. Candidates may choose to answer (or not) as they see fit. Questions will be collected from October 25 to November 5. Candidates will have until November 12 to return their responses which will be published no later than November 14th.

IRC Town Halls

Each group participating in the election will attempt host two Town Hall forums on IRC. Each will last one hour, or less if there are no further questions.

How to Join

  • Everyone should join #fedora-townhall on FreeNode (irc.freenode.net). Only candidates and a moderator may speak in this channel.
  • Non-candidates should also join #fedora-townhall-public on FreeNode (irc.freenode.net). Direct your questions for the candidates to the moderator.
