About

I am from Wisconsin (Midwest US). I am a computer hobbyist and Fedora enthusiast. My first Linux distro was Ubuntu 7.04. I have been tinkering with Fedora since Fedora 13 and using Fedora exclusively since Fedora 14.

My degree and areas of expertise and practice are not related to CS. My understanding of the GNU/Linux operating systems has been self taught, but in reality that means I learned a lot from generous, patient folks in IRC, on forums, and from google searches.

Activities within Fedora

  • You can find me lurking, commenting, and helping when I can in the #fedora and #fedora-qa Freenode IRC channels. Hopefully with more and more frequency.
  • My interests include technical writing and documentation, QA-style work, community interaction, Fedora evangelism, and learning as much as I can.

  1. Menu test seems to refer to Gnome 2.x UI elements
  2. Can change background, but Background test refers to Gnome 2.x UI elements
  3. Tested using smolt-gui and k9copy. Most UI elements match Gtk, but icons are clearly Oxygen (very shiny/glassy/2005 ugly)
  4. Did not test blanking rw media.
